Whistle While You Work - Louis Armstrong

Everyone give a big 'ol Happy Birthday to LOUIS ARMSTRONG who, if he were still alive would turn 109 today!

Way back in 1968, Armstrong recorded an entire album of Disney cover, ranging from standards (When You Wish Upon a Star and Bare Necessities) to relatively obscure songs ('Bout Time and Ten Feet Off the Ground), although those songs would have been contemporary at the time. The album is called DISNEY SONGS THE SATCHMO WAY.

Have you ever wondered why Louis Armstrong's nickname was Satchmo? Well, Louis always puffed out his cheeks when he played trumpet (a big no-no for brass musicians). Over the years, this caused his cheeks to sag and become baggy and the term satchelmouth was created. One day in 1932, Percy Brooks, editor of Melody Maker magazine, greeted Armstrong with "Hello, Satchmo!" and the nickname stuck!

I hope you enjoy Satchmo's version of Snow White's Whistle While You Work!
