As a father, pop-rock children's act RALPH'S WORLD really gets my stamp of approval. There is so much fluff out there that passes as music for kids, but this band, fronted by former THE BAD EXAMPLES member Ralph Covert, combines educational and clever lyrics with music that you actually won't mind playing over and over again in the car.
Ralph's World came to be in 1991, but it wasn't until 2007 when Ralph signed on with Disney Sound that he began getting more publicity. But Disney didn't have any influence on his music, leaving Ralph to do his own thing and make great records.
Signing with Disney also means that Ralph can cover Disney songs! His first album on the Disney label, RALPH'S WORLD
, contains a medley of Winnie the Pooh and The Wonderful Thing About Tiggers. Although I wouldn't call this a medley -- there is an obvious break in between songs with no attempt to bridge the two together.If you would like to check out Ralph's World for yourself and you live in New York City, there will be a free show this Saturday (July 18) at 3:00pm in Central Park!
