The next entry in Silly Symphony Week comes from The Flying Mouse. After the little field mouse has his wish for wings granted by a fairy, he sets out to live his life to the fullest. But he stumbles upon a group of bats that let him know that he's Nothin' But a Nothin'.
I found this cover on a Capitol Record's adaptation of The Flying Mouse. You can download it at Kiddie Records, a wealth of classic children's records, Disney and otherwise. I'm not positive on the release date of this record, but based on number on the album cover, I'm guessing 1951 or 1952.
Since the record doesn't credit the singer, the credit for the track goes to Billy May, a film and television composer who is probably the most well-known as the composer of the Green Hornet theme song! May arranged all the music on this record, however I don't quite care for this arrangement. The single raspy vocal falls flat when compared to the original quartet of singers.
