With World War II cutting out a valuable portion of Walt Disney's European revenue, and the poor box office receipts from Fantasia, Walt turned to the untapped South American audience to help bring his studio out of a financial crisis.
Walt produced two feature films, Saludos Amigos and The Three Caballeros, which were compilations of several Latin American themed cartoons. Walt employed some of the biggest names in Latin music to create the soundtracks to these films.
Appearing in both films are songs by ARY BARROSO. Aquarela do Brasil (aka Brazil) can be heard in Saludos Amigos, and Na Baixa do Sapateiro (aka Baía) in The Three Caballeros. Both songs are sambas and have become Barroso's most well-known tunes.

Thanks for sharing this version of the song from an era of films that doesn't get much mention during Uncle Walt's reign at the studio.
It's pretty poignant to revisit the studio's involvement during World War 2, with the events of that war approaching their 70th anniversary during the next couple of years.
Anyway, it was nice hearing some vintage Latin American music.
I'm always excited, when my favourite Disney Animated Classic gets some recognition. :-)
The german dub of "Three Caballeros" is really interesting. They mixed some of your english versions of the songs with some of the original, latin american versions. Sadly, they dubbed "You Belong To My Heart" in german. It sounds awful...
