Happy Canada Day! As a Canadian, I am proud to be able to tie in today's post to my favourite country!
I had the option to post a song that was either by a Canadian artist or about Canada in some way. I know this is a bit of a stretch, but I'm posting a cover of Look Through My Eyes from Brother Bear.
Even though they never say their exact location in the movie, it's pretty clear that it is in northern North America. And the fact that there are two caribou played by Canadian stereotypes Bob and Doug McKenzie (Rick Moranis and Dave Thomas) with names that make fun of Canadian accents (Rutt and Tuke) leads me to believe that they are in the True North strong and free.
So it is for this reason that I post a cover of the Brother Bear credits song, Look Through My Eyes, as performed by girl-rock band EVERLIFE. The track was recorded for DISNEYMANIA 4
I'm a fan of Phil Collins, I loved his work on Tarzan, but I'm just not into this song. However, I love this pop-rock cover which takes the adult contemporary sound out of the track and drives it in a straight-up modern rock fashion.
