Hey everyone! Jamie from Fong Songs here. Today's featured tune is a remix by DJ Ursula 1000 of the main theme from The Incredibles, which comes from an incredibly hard to find EP of Incredibles remixes that for a time was only available on the US iTunes (much to the chagrin of us Canadians) and now apparently not available at all.
I chose this song because I wanted to highlight the work of composer Michael Giacchino who wrote the music for The Incredibles, his first major feature film score. Giacchino has since has gone on to write the scores for Pixar's Ratatouille and Up, in fact winning an Academy Award for the latter! He also has a long time association with J. J. Abrams, composing for his shows Alias, Lost, and Fringe, as well as following Abrams to the big screen with Mission: Impossible 3 and Star Trek. I'm going to take a wild guess and predict Giacchino will be providing the music for the forthcoming Mission: Impossible 4 to be directed by Brad Bird(!!) and produced by Abrams. Another big project on the horizon for Giacchino is Pixar's first live-action film John Carter of Mars, directed by WALL-E's Andrew Stanton.
The man's track record speaks for itself. It's kinda hard not to be a Giacchino fan!
