Here is a song that I have talked about yet: Ferdinand the Bull was the first cartoon that Disney produced that wasn't associated with a particular series (ie. Mickey Mouse, Silly Symphonies). The cartoon followed faithfully the story of the pacifist bull that gets roped into participating in a bullfight.
Although you don't hear it during the cartoon, this song was written for Ferdinand, but not included for whatever reason. However, it was still released as sheet music which was a popular form of releasing music to the public (like digital downloads these days). The sheet music was bought by a number of musicians who recorded it for their records.
SLIM AND SLAM was a novelty jazz act from the 30s. The singing duo was made up of Bulee "Slim" Gaillard who sang and played guitar, and Leroy Elliott "Slam" Stewart who sang and played bass. Together they recorded Ferdinand on May 3, 1938, six months before the release of the film. You can get it on a number of CDs that collect the work of Slim and Slam.
