Toy Story 3 did very well in the box office over the weekend, bringing in over $100 million dollars on opening weekend! Only two other animated movies are able to boast this amazing accomplishment, Shrek 2 & 3. Because of the success of the movie (which I haven't seen yet) I have decided that this week will be Toy Story Week!
I'll admit it, I'm a DONNY OSMOND fan. The 70s teen idol, 90s recording artist and Broadway performer, 00s game show host, and reigning Dancing with the Stars champion is best known in Disney circles as the singing voice of Mulan's Shang and the song I'll Make a Man Out of You.
Did you know that he also played Gaston in the Beauty and the Beast musical in 2006? One of the main reasons I love Donny Osmond, aside from his many talents, is that he doesn't seem to take himself too seriously. I love seeing him have fun with his career and the surprise cameos that seem to pop up everywhere. Two of my favourite Donny cameos include his appearance on Johnny Bravo and in "Weird Al" Yankovic's White and Nerdy music video. I imagine that he would be the perfect person to play Gaston's pompous, brash and aloof character. He would play the role with over the top camp and it would be amazing.
