Je souhaite - Isabelle Aubret

When it comes to foreign language Disney covers, I mostly have Japanese. But there are a few other foreign language albums out there, like UN JOUR MON PRINCE VIENDRA - CHANSONS DES FILMS DE WALT DISNEY ET JACQUES DEMY. Translated, that means, SOME DAY MY PRINCE WILL COME - FILM SONGS OF WALT DISNEY AND JACQUES DEMY.

The album is by French singer ISABELLE AUBRET whose career spans dozens of albums over fifty years!

This album contains five songs from Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs, including Je souhaite (I'm Wishing), three songs from Cinderella and two songs from Mary Poppins. Tacked on the end are two songs from the films of French director Jacques Demy (with whom Aubret has a special connection). I'm not sure why this couldn't be a complete Disney tribute or why there wasn't more variety in the movies represented, but oh well, at least she's a good singer.

By the way, Aubret was 69 when she recorded this album in 2007. She actually has a pretty interesting story which includes Jacque Demy, a car crash and gymnastics. But I'll tell you all about it when I post another of her songs in the future.
