Chim Chim Cher-ee - Yasuharu Konishi & Pizzicato Five

I've posted many tracks from one of my favourite Disney cover albums, READYMADE DIGS DISNEY, and I'll keep posting them until I've posted them all because they are all so great!

This time, it's a cover of Mary Poppins' Chim Chim Cher-ee, sung by a guy who apparently has forgotten all of the lyrics! Either that or his English is a little rough and singing one line over and over was his way to compensate. Whatever the reason, it adds a novel charm to a familiar track, making it one of the more unique covers.

This album is arranged and produced by record producer YASHUHARU KONISHI and performed by his band, PIZZICATO FIVE. The name of the album refers to Konishi's production company, Readymade.

Pure rhythm, nice interpretation! It has a sort of jazz influence.

:) I love this album. This song always makes me laugh because it reminds of the Ernest movie, Ernest Saves Christmas (with Jim Varney who voiced Cookie in Atlantis incidentally) and his version of "Oh Christmas Tree" which is just the words Oh Christmas tree over and over again much like this.

This is fantastic!! Thank you so much for this blog!

I can say I have easily spent 8 hours going through EVERY single posting on this site in the past 2 days. I never knew there were so many Disney covers out there.

Thanks for all your work!!

Haha Christine, I think I did the same thing when I first found this blog too! I was looking for stuff about the Stay Awake album because a friend had just told me about it and I found this and was instantly addicted!
