Baroque Hoedown - Gil Goldstein & Friends

I got a comment yesterday from "just jason" who wants to know if there are any albums that I haven't posted anything from yet. Yes, there are lots! So the rest of this week I will play a track from a few of those albums.

Today's track comes from a Japanese exclusive album called DISNEY MEETS JAZZ: TRIBUTE TO WALT DISNEY from 2006. That title is now out of print and hard to find, but Disney has released the exact same album for North America under the title DISNEY ADVENTURES IN JAZZ in 2008.

The album features jazz musician GIL GOLDSTEIN who has been a professional jazz pianist since the 70s. He is also an accomplished accordionist, which you can hear in this track, and an expert jazz cellist, which he also shows off on this album. Rounding out the trio is BILLY KILSON on drums and JOHN PATITUCCI on bass.

The track is the Baroque Hoedown from the Main Street Electrical Parade, now called Disney's Electrical Parade since it was moved from Main Street to the California Adventure. (Actually, it has been renamed Main Street Electrical Parade because it moved from California Adventure to the Magical Kingdom, Walt Disney World, last week!)

If you are a jazz fan, you will definitely want to pick up this album. It is one of the best Disney jazz albums that I have come across. Another good one is Dave Brubeck's DAVE DIGS DISNEY.

I like that. You can lose yourself into the music with that track.
That's another musician I want to track down now.
