Love is a Song - The Main Street Band

Today is the birthday of Paula Winslowe. If she was still alive today, she would be turning 99! Winslowe had a small television career throughout the 50s and 60s, appearing mostly as one-off guest star characters in shows like I Love Lucy and Rawhide.

However, it was her radio career that was more noteworthy, with roles like Mrs. Martha Conklin in Our Miss Brooks which she would later portray in the television version. Her voice work led to her to land the role as Bambi's mother in the 1942 film. Winslowe's soft and tender voice was perfect for the kind and caring mother.

This version of Love is a Song is off a cheap album called THE BEST OF DISNEY by a studio band calling themselves THE MAIN STREET BAND. The song sounds a bit like something you would hear in an elevator or while you are on hold on the telephone.
