Indie pop/punk band ALTEREGO has been recording and touring since 2004, but I've only heard about them now. The four piece band from the state of Oregon released a whole album of TV show theme song covers in January 2009 called A.E.T.V.
Among the 34 tracks are a few theme songs from the early days of the Disney Afternoon, including this cover of Chip 'n' Dale Rescue Rangers. Cartoon lovers will also be able to hear covers of Captain Planet, Thundercats and Doug or if you are just a fan of the 90s in general, you may like to hear their version of Saved By the Bell, Family Matters or Malcolm in the Middle.
But the best part of this album is that the band has made it completely free to download! In fact, all of their albums are completely free to download, including their newest release, FAST FORWARD.
